My Favorite Set "Courage"

The name of the set says it all!! Having 2 boys in the Army and a husband in the Coast Guard, this was the first set I bought, and the set I use the most!!

I used the bleach technique on this card. The image is stamped on Kraft card stock then I bleach out the area I wanted to add in skin color and white too! To bleach, I use my regular house hold bleach that I dip an old blender pen in (I feel I have the most control with that) I let that area dry, and then watercolor with an Aqua Painter and Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

Other Supplies used...

Service & Sacrifice Stamp Set
Hero Jumbo Wheel
Night of Navy Jumbo Cartridge
Night of Navy Card Stock
Real Red Card Stock
Kraft Card Stock
Real Red Stamp Pad
Black Stazon Stamp Pad
Star punch
Silver Brad
Red Double-Stitched Ribbon

I made these with the Stampin' Up! key chains for door prizes for my "Stamp 4 Our Troops" events!!

Trick -or-Treat Ready

My jars are filled (they might not stay that way), decorated, and ready for cute little trick - or- treaters to visit! The Spooky Spider Jar is made with the Decor Element "Spooky Spider". I used the Medium size since my jar is so tall! You can find him on page 7 of the Definitely Decorative Catalog! The tag on the small jar is made with the very popular, "Batty For You"
Stamp set, and of course I tied it all together with my favorite Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon!

Lately I have been needing a lot of praying for you cards, not always a great thing, but it is a blessing to lift someones spirits with a hand stamped card! Anyway, I have found myself using this stamp set, "Thoughts and Prayers" so often, I just love it! On this card I used the Faux Silk technique, an oldie, but goodie! So I thought I would share it with you as a reminder, or maybe even as a new technique!
Enjoy!

Faux Silk Technique

Step 1- Stamp images on tissue paper.

Step 2- Color images if necessary.

Hint:
Color carefully. The ink will bleed through the tissue paper.

Step 3- Crinkle tissue paper. Smooth out and set aside.

Step 4- Apply adhesive of your choice over the entire piece of neutral card stock.

Step 5- Spread tissue paper over adhesive. Smooth out most wrinkles.

Step 6 - Trim excess tissue paper.

Step 7- Finish your card.
